Current Priorities
The following is a summary of development projects that we are aiming to fund:
- Improve School Security
- Development of School Library
- Equip Nursery Unit
- New Curriculum Course Books
- Funding Costumes and Transport for the National Music and Dance Festival
The harsh reality of living in abject poverty means that it is necessary for the school to improve its security and guard against the theft of valuable books and resources which benefit the whole community.
The Gift of Learning
In Shonda good quality books are in short supply and each one is really appreciated. The children in Shonda need books that develop their knowledge and spark their imaginations.
The new nursery unit needs to be fully equipped with appropriate learning aids for preschool children.
The Nursery Block Under Construction
New course books are needed to support the new curriculum. We are aiming to equip the whole school with appropriate course books, starting with provision of maths and english books for class one.
This is an important part of the school year and one in which the school continually excels - often reaching the finals in Nairobi - an extraordinary achievement for such a small school.
